Character Consistency Workflow
Keeping your subject the same across multiple images.
The Holy Grail of AI Art
Keeping a character consistent across different poses and settings is challenging but possible with Nano Banana.
1. The "Anchor" Name
Give your character a unique name. Sometimes combining two celebrity names (e.g., "Emma-Watson-Stone") creates a consistent internal seed for the face.
- Note: Be careful with copyright/policy when using real names.
2. Detailed Physical Description
Create a "base block" of text that you copy-paste into every prompt.
"A young woman with short blue bob hair, green eyes, a small scar on her left cheek, wearing a leather jacket."
3. Seed Locking
If you find a generation where the face is perfect, keep that Seed number. Re-using the seed with slight prompt variations (changing the background) helps maintain consistency.
4. Reference Images (Image-to-Image)
Use your best generation as an input image for the next one. Set the "Image Weight" high enough to keep the features but low enough to allow the pose to change.
5. Post-Processing (In-Painting)
If the face changes slightly, use In-Painting to regenerate only the face using your original description.
